Bellator President Scott Coker has shared his 1st response to Michael Chandler, the promotion’s former lightweight champion, signing with the UFC.
Chandler is arguably the greatest star in Bellator record. Last thirty day period, however, the former champ parted means with the advertising, and signed on the dotted line with the UFC.
Talking with MMAJunkie recently, Coker discussed Chandler’s migration to the UFC. The Bellator boss statements that he probably could have matched the UFC’s present, but authorized Chandler to go on and embark on a new chapter.
“I individually genuinely think he’s an amazing human staying and a wonderful relatives gentleman,” Coker said. “He’s bought great values and is a genuine martial artist. When Chandler now calls a Bellator competitor household, Coker states he’ll keep on to aid the fighter in the following stage of his vocation.
“He’s a dude I’m often heading to support,” Coker stated. “I’m going to enjoy all of his fights. And what does it say about the high quality of fighters in Bellator when a dude like Michael Chandler leaves and receives place ideal into the immediate title shot conversation? Proper? It shows you how terrific these fighters are about in this article.”
