Santiago Ponzinibbio is not a fan of the UFC rankings.
Just after Ponzinibbio knocked out Neil Magny in 2018, the now 34-calendar year-aged was rated inside the top-15. However, he has been working with health concerns and has not fought because November of 2018, but will return on January 16 versus Li Jingliang.
For Ponzinibbio, when he returns, he will not have a selection beside his name which he states is bulls**t.
“They eliminated me (from the rankings). Brian Ortega fought 3 weeks following me and he’s however in the rankings and he was in the most important function (in opposition to The Korean Zombie). I requested, why is he in the rankings even with the inactivity? Why does he get a primary occasion, and me (an unranked opponent in Jingliang)?” Ponzinibbio stated to Sherdog.
“Listen, I really like Brian Ortega. I consider he deserves it, he confirmed to the earth he warrants it, he beat a male and ideally he results in being a winner. I really don’t have nearly anything towards him. It is just our situation’s quite equivalent. For this reason, I repeat, I assume the rankings are bullsh*t. I go inside my cage and do my function. Which is it. I depict my society and my individuals from Argentina and from Latin American and I set a exhibit inside of the cage, guy.”
In his career, Santiago Ponzinibbio is 27-3 and riding a 7-combat successful streak with wins around Magny, Mike Perry, and Gunnar Nelson. He also retains a notable wins more than Sean Strickland, but if he can get earlier Jingliang, it is likely he will re-enter the welterweight rankings.
