Thiago Alves has a new opponent for his bare-knuckle boxing debut.
The Bare Knuckle Combating Championship declared Thursday that MMA veteran Phil Baroni is out of the scheduled main function of BKFC 12 on Sept. 11 and stepping in for him to struggle Alves is The Greatest Fighter 16 alumnus Julian Lane.
No cause was provided for Baroni’s withdrawal. MMA Battling has reached out to BKFC officers for further more details.
This celebration marks Alves’ initial bare-knuckle boxing battle right after investing the final 15 years of his career with the UFC. Alves, 36, compiled a 15-12 document inside the octagon and at the time challenged for the UFC welterweight title. He is currently 23-15 in pro MMA.
