Jordan Leavitt is the latest lightweight on the UFC roster.
Leavitt scored a very first-spherical submission gain more than Luke Flores on episode 27 of the Contender Series. Still, what amazed quite a few is the truth it was Flores who initiated the trade for the combat to strike the mat, as Leavitt is the jiu-jitsu person.
So, Leavitt admits that threw him off but resolved to stick with it and obtained the submission win.
“I imagined I was falling for a lure. He jumped for a triangle and I’m like this has to be a lure it’s possible I need to stand up. I slammed him and recognized it was not a lure,” Leavitt mentioned to MMANews. “I imagine probably he was wanting for a way out or maybe he believed he could faucet me from his back again. It was a tactical mistake and I’m glad he made it.”
While Jordan Leavitt had results in the combat at lightweight, he has fought at featherweight on the regional scenes. But, after some botched weight cuts, he thinks he will be a light-weight for good.
“I’m 155 without end. I felt like a gorilla out there, like I felt solid and weighed like 179 on battle night time,” he discussed. “I’d fairly just be the greatest fighter I can be and take care of my overall body.”
For now, Leavitt is nonetheless soaking in the feelings of acquiring a UFC deal. He doesn’t have a name in head for his debut but hopes it happens in the subsequent pair of months. But, he suggests if that doesn’t appear to fruition he won’t make his debut until eventually 2021.
“So, either in the up coming eight weeks and that way I can remain in camp or four or five months from now. I experienced some fat minimize troubles final yr and I have been in camp and haven’t had the time to place on muscle. If I really don’t get a struggle in the following two months then I will lift some weights and consider edge of the methods of the PI. So, possibly appropriate away or following yr.”
