It’s been a number of times given that the Welterweight scrap involving Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammad ended in a no contest (NC) following “Rocky” accidentally poked “Remember The Name” in his eye leaving him not able to carry on.
Although some of the dust has settled, Muhammad is nonetheless hot and bothered. Certain, he escaped main personal injury, but what is rubbing him the wrong way is the fact that Edwards has stated he has no desire in jogging it back again. And though Muhammad admits he had no ill will to his foe prior to that combat, which is all modified.
“I had no ill will towards him before then, but I do now,” Muhammad explained to MMA Combating. “Just his whole attitude and the way he’s acting. I’m a challenging dude to get mad, but he irritated me and he’s pissing me off with just the way he’s acting and the way he’s like, ‘I received the 1st spherical, so we understood how the fight’s going to go.’
“There’s five rounds in a fight, you moron. I literally pick up as the battle goes on, so the fact that he’s conversing like that, which is what’s pissing me off the most.”
Muhammad’s preliminary thoughts immediately after suffering the eye poke was that he experienced absent blind because he could not see something but darkness. Immediately after that scare wore off, “Remember The Name” suggests his feelings shifted to anger due to the fact there was no clear minimize winner. Which is why Muhammad feels Edwards should not be performing like he’s entitled to a title combat.
“Man-to-gentleman, if you are happy with that consequence, then you shouldn’t phone by yourself a fighter,” Muhammad said. “You should not simply call you a contender. You should not get in touch with on your own a champion. Person-to-guy, if you’re satisfied with that consequence, honestly you should really just dangle up your gloves,” he included.
Edwards at first identified as for a title shot from Kamaru Usman in its place of a Muhammad do-above. But now that Jorge Masvidal will get the likelihood to rematch “The Nigerian Nightmare” at UFC 261, Belal suggests the doorway is wide open up to a rematch.
“No actual fighter, no correct fighter would want a fight to conclusion like that. No legitimate fighter would permit that happen. You committed the foul. You owe me the rematch. Let’s do it.”
