Alistair Overeem will confront Augusto Sakai in the main event of UFC Las Vegas 9 tomorrow night time. At a pre-function media scrum, Overeem talked over the chance of a combat at heavyweight in opposition to Jon Jones and a feasible rematch with former opponent and recent free agent, Brock Lesnar. Overeem expressed enthusiasm for possibly going through Jon Jones but doubts that Lesnar will return to MMA.
“Yes, I would do it,” reported Overeem when questioned about a struggle in opposition to Jones. “I believe it would be a fantastic battle. I would experience honored.”
Overeem continued to say he feels Jones would be a good addition to the division.
“I feel it is a fantastic addition to the heavyweight division,” Overeem ongoing. “I’m truly energized. New blood. I have experienced with him, he’s pretty capable. He’s tricky, he’s fantastic. So I’m energized about that advancement.”
As far as Brock Lesnar, however, Overeem doesn’t believe the previous UFC Heavyweight Winner will return to the sport. He spoke to TMZ recently about Lesnar.
“I conquer him up,” Overeem reported. “So if someone wants a rematch, it would be him. I presently did it. Why would I chase him? Who cares about Brock? Which lovers? He’s not coming again.”
Overeem continued to converse about why he feels Lesnar is not coming again to the activity.
“He’s 43 yrs previous, he’s flunked exams, it’s around with him. He’s not coming again. Last time the waived the testing for him and continue to he got into difficulties. It is been a debacle. He’s not gonna arrive again. Pay attention, if he does, all hats off to him, but I don’t assume he’s gonna arrive again.”
